CBS News: ‘SMS Service is dead’ in UAE


CBS News is reporting that SMS service provider Bob Sms Service (BSS) has filed for bankruptcy protection in Dubai.

The bankruptcy filing in Dubai alleges that the company is insolvent and unable to pay its debts.

Bob Smas Service is a mobile SMS service that allows customers to send text messages.

The company operates in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar.

BobSmas Service was founded in 2008 in Dubai, the UAE.

SMS service provider ABC News is also reporting that Bob Sm’s Service has filed bankruptcy.

ABC News reported that BobSms Service had filed for insolvency in the Dubai District Court in Dubai on August 26.

BobSMas Service had not yet responded to requests for comment on the bankruptcy filing.ABC News also reported that the bankruptcy filings in Dubai include claims that the operator of BobSmis Service failed to make payments of overdue bills, and that the carrier has failed to keep up with payments from its debtors.

The carrier’s debts were accrued before the company was founded and included money owed to Dubai Electricity Authority and Dubai Airport Authority, according to ABC News.

The Dubai Electricity authority said in a statement that the case has been referred to the Financial Crimes Division of the Dubai authorities.

ABC reported that other debts included debt to BobSmasses and BobSMass, and claims for damages against BobSMast Service.ABC reported that a total of 557 million dirhams were owed by BobSMash Service, and some of those were for unpaid bills.

ABC said that BobSMasts claims against BobSmast Service are in the millions.

BobSmsService, which operates in Dubai and Saudi Arabia has been embroiled in a dispute with the Dubai Electricity authorities over unpaid electricity bills since the company began operating in 2015.

In May, the Dubai Authority and Bobsmas claimed that Bobsmast Service failed in its obligations to pay electricity bills.

In November, the company filed for the dissolution of its company and the bankruptcy protection, according the ABC News report.ABC said that the financial situation of BobSMask Service is currently unclear, but that the dispute with Dubai Electricity Authorities is ongoing.ABC has reached out to Bobsmask Service for comment and will update this story when we have more information.
