Trump tweets ‘disgusting’ on Russia probe, warns against ‘sabotage’

President Donald Trump tweeted Wednesday that he was “disgusted” with what he viewed as an “ongoing investigation” into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Trump’s comments came in a series of tweets that echoed warnings from senior officials of a Russian attempt to meddle in the United States.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the president’s tweet.

The tweet came hours after a series from top White House officials on the ongoing investigation into Russian meddling in the election and alleged collusion between Trump associates and Russian officials, including Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

Trump has been under intense scrutiny since the Justice Department announced its investigation in early January.

The department announced Monday that it would investigate whether Trump’s campaign colluded with the Kremlin on his behalf during the 2016 campaign.

Trump, for his part, has denied any collusion and dismissed the investigations as “fake news.”

On Wednesday, he reiterated his claim that he believes “fake News” and called on people to “stop listening to fake news.”
