The Next Blog: BMO is announcing a new service it calls a “call center.”
The BMO call center, which it says will be open in Canada and the U.S. by the end of the year, will let consumers use the company’s mobile apps for free for a limited time and can also be used to get financial information from its credit card and debit card accounts.
The service, which will cost $50 per month and offer a variety of features, will be launched in late 2018 and will be available to both Canadian and U.K. customers, BMO said in a statement on Monday.
The call center will be based in Brampton, Ont., with more locations to be announced.
“We’re pleased to offer this service to BMO customers, who will be able to enjoy a more seamless experience using our products for free,” the company said in its statement.
BMO and other big banks have been trying to get more customers to use their financial tools, especially when it comes to checking accounts, for a few years now.
They’ve said they’re also working to make their mobile apps more accessible.
BDO said it was not the first time it had introduced a mobile app, and it will not be the last.
In October, BDO launched its own financial services platform, called BMO Wallet, but that app has been criticized by critics for its lack of mobile-friendly features.
BNO is looking to be more inclusive with its mobile app.
In addition to the new call centre, the company is adding its own video and video chat service to the BMO app.
Bmo also has plans to launch a smartphone app, as well as a virtual assistant app that will allow users to send money and credit card information.
“With BMO, we have a mission to offer people access to financial services without sacrificing their privacy,” CEO David M. Broderick said in the company statement.
“Today, we are proud to introduce a new BMO service to our customers, and we are thrilled to offer the BNA services to our new global customer base.
We know this is an important milestone for us and our customers and look forward to sharing more details about BMO in the coming months.”
